Aberdeen - Corinne Holland Adams, 97, died Wednesday, April 12, 2006, at Dugan Memorial Home in West Point. She was born Nov. 29, 1908, in Becker to James Clarence Holland and Ethel Finney Holland. A lifelong resident of Monroe County, she was a graduate of Amory High School. She was an active member of the First Christian Church of Aberdeen until she became homebound. In her younger years she taught the teenage class and in later years the Ladies Bible Class. She was a member of Circle II and served in several positions. She was a homemaker and also worked as a department store salesclerk for many years. After retirement, she was an active member of an Extension Homemakers Club. She was an avid camper and a member of the Monroe County Campers Association and spent many vacations traveling. She also enjoyed flower gardening, needlework and reading. She leaves a legacy of her Christian faith among her many surviving family members. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen with Bro. Robert G. Secrist and Dr. George Forbes officiating. Burial will be in Oddfellows Rest Cemetery in Aberdeen. Survivors include two daughters, May Holland (Leonard) Hussey of Aberdeen and Betty (John Lee III) Davis of Edmond, Okla.; six grandchildren, Linda Kay Hussey Harper of Columbus, Cheryl (Jim) Kirkpatrick of Lexington, S.C., Debra (Paul) Greer of Panama City, Fla., John (Betty June) Davis IV of Sulphur, Okla., Jim (Cammiel) Hussey of Arlington, Va., and Paul Davis of Edmond, Okla.; 10 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Paul Jasper Adams; her parents; and two brothers, Frank and Arthur Holland. Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Christian Church, P.O. Box 669, Aberdeen, MS 39730; or Greenbrier Cemetery Fund, 50187 S. Harmony Road, Amory, MS 38821.
