Drinnen, Eulis Edward - age 84 of Strawberry Plains, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, February 16, 2010. He was a faithful member and devoted Deacon at Paw Paw Hollow Baptist Church. He was baptized and joined the church October 22, 1939. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and retired from Tobacco Sales and was an avid farmer. Preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Ruth H. Drinnen; parents, William H. and Irene Drinnen; brother, James Haskel and sister, Margaret. He is survived by brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Carolyn, Bill and Marilyn and Kenneth Drinnen all of Strawberry Plains and Roy and Hazel Drinnen of Knoxville; sister, Shirley Turner of Virginia; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Martha and Rolen Cate of Strawberry Plains, Martha Drinnen of Germany and Roy Hillard of New Market, TN; very special friend, Mary Farmer of Jefferson City; a host of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5-8 pm Friday at Paw Paw Hollow Baptist Church with the service to follow at 8 pm. Reverends Ronnie White and Al Smith officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10 am Saturday at McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home to proceed to Paw Paw Hollow Cemetery for an 11 am interment. Deacons of Paw Paw Hollow Church will serve as Pallbearers. McCarty Evergreen Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
