Hodge, Jack Rodgers - age 84, of Kodak, passed away after an extended illness at Jefferson City Memorial Hospital on Sunday, January 30, 2000. He was a longtime member of French Broad Valley Baptist Church and was very faithful in his attendance prior to his illness. He retired in 1978 from Lay's Packing Company in Knoxville after approximately 30 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolph and Maggie (Underwood) Hodge; grandparents, Rev. Bruce and Kate Hodge; wife, Laura Kate (Douglas) Hodge; daughter, Shirley Ariail; brothers, John and Odie Hodge. Jack is survived by wife, Julie H. (Farmer) Hodge; son, Vernon Hodge; daughters, Gail Bolinger and Sue Jones; sister, Evalee Carmichael; grandchildren, Thomas, Donal (Chipper), Scott and Patrick Ariail, Teresa (Hodge) Dotson, Paula (Bolinger) Barnes, Regina and Shirley Bolinger, Tammy Jones, Ginger (Jones) Franks; 6 great grandchildren; 6 step children; 12 step grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dorothy Berrier and the care givers at Jefferson City Health and Rehabilitation Center for their aide and kindness during his extended illness. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday February 2, 2000 at French Broad Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Harkleroad, Rev. Wayne Stinnett, and Rev. Kevin Maples officiating. Interment will follow immediately at Underwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. February 1 at Rawlings Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Johnny and Richard Hodge, Donal (Chipper), Scott and Patrick Ariail, Dean Terry, Randy Dotson, and Lou Barnes.
