Death: after 1850, age 46, Mercer County, Missouri. Acts of 1841-42, Chapter 6, Page 4, stated that Samuel Pickens, Henry G. Hodges, Sr., Allen S. Bryan, George McCowen, Stewart O. Dickey, Albert T. W. Clendenen, and Henry M. Thomas were appointed as Commissioners to settle the business of the recent Board of Common School Commissioners of Sevier County as created by the General Assembly. The Commissioners would organize themselves into a Board immediately and call upon the Clerk of the former Board to deliver any papers, notes, books, funds and money of any kind whereupon all business of the former Board would be settled and whatever remained would be turned over to the Nancy Academy in Sevier County. Acts of 1847-48, Chapter 103, Page 159, repealed all the laws which required the county academy to be located within one mile of the county seat as the same would apply to Sevier County. George McMahon, Daniel Emert, John Walker, Robert H. Hodsden, John Mullendore, William Cartlett, James Cummings, John W. Trundle, Allen S. Bryan, Alexander McCallie, and Benjamin J. Tipton were appointed as Commissioners to select a site for the Academy as near the county seat as possible but not more than two and one-quarter miles from it. Sevier Co. Roads - Private Acts of 1841-1842 - Chapter 32, Pg. 34, appointed Allen S. Bryan as Commissioner for turnpike road. 1846 Allen S. Bryan build same road as above. Sevier Co. Schools- Acts of 1841-1842 - Chapter 6, Page 4, stated that Samuel Pickens, Henry G. Hodges, Sr., ALLEN S. BRYAN, George McCowen, Stewart O. Dickey, Albert T. Clendenen, and Henry Thomas were appointed Commissioners to settle the business of the recent board of Common School Commissioners of Sevier Co. Sevier Co. Schools - Acts of 1847-48 - Chapter 103, Pg. 159, Allen S. Bryan appointed Commissioner Sevier Co. TN - Deed book H - Pg. 470-1 - 13 Feb 1850 Jesse Langston by ALLEN S. BRAYAN, Trustee to George A Kenner 103-1/2 acres. Land in 8th district. Deed was made to secure Elisha Cate and Thomas Cate, executors of Joshua cate, deceased, note for $300, to be sold if not paid by 15 Oct 1847. Langston made deed 28 Oct 1842. land was sold to George Keener for high bid of $400. Wit: Alphanso Hudson, Joel Acuff, James Hester & Naluom Sanders. Registered 9 Oct 1850.
