Turpin, Annabelle Scarborough - age 80 of Maryville died at 7:15 a.m. Thursday, June 7, 2001 at the University of Tenn. Medical Center. She was a member of Smokey View Baptist Church and a graduate of Old Robertsville High School (1939) in Oak Ridge. She attended Maryville College and was an employee of the Blount County School System for a few years; an employee of ALCOA and Proffitt's Department Stores. Preceded in death by son, Jerry Clayton; brothers, Frank, Glenn, Albert, Ray Scarborough; sister, Polly Edsell; parents, Joseph & Lucy Scarborough. Survivors include: husband, of 62 1/2 years, William Edgar Turpin; daughter and son in law, Linda & David Ellis of Alcoa; grandchildren, David L. & wife, Kim Ellis, Daniel C. Ellis, Julie & husband, Joe Bell, Joseph E. and wife, Belinda Ellis, Lisa Sands, Michelle & husband, Andrew Klager, Elena Patrick, Tiffany Turpin; great grandchildren, A1C Cari D. Ellis of Mont., Megan N. Waters, Bren Swicegood, Taylor Sands, Eric Bell, Alex Anna Bell; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday June 10, 2001 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. R.M. Everett and Rev. Mark Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery.
