PETERS-WILLIAMSON
Miss Lola Ethel Williamson and Mr. Ernest Lester Peters of Knoxville were united in marriage at the home of the bride's parents Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Williamson, 716 Broadway, Sunday, Nov. 6th at 2 o'clock. The ceremony was performed by Rev. G. M. Moreland, pastor of the Southern Methodist church, and was a very quiet affair, witnessed only by relatives and intimate friends of the bride. The bride is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Williamson of this city. She possesses a lovable disposition which has won for her a host of friends who will regret to learn that her marriage takes her elsewhere to reside. The groom is an accomplished young man and holds a responsible position with the Knox Stove Works at Knoxville. The happy couple motored to their home in Knoxville immediately after ceremony, where a furnished bungalow was awaiting them. They have the heartiest congratulations of their many friends. He was known as Lester. But he also was often called Pete or Uncle Pete, even by non-family members. (Jerry Bryan) He taught school at the one room Claxton School at the time when Hutsell was sick (about 1920). The school was on the right side of Clinton Highway (northbound), before you get to the crossroads at Claxton. (Lucille Wright) He could play the piano. He played fiddle at dances. His violin was originally Hutsell's. (Lucille Wright). He read music using the shaped note system. He was very upset if the church bought a new hymn book which did not have shaped notes. (Jerry Bryan) He stated that his Peters family had come to the United States from Germany.
