Scarborough, Joseph Glenmore - age 82, of Knoxville, passed away Friday, March 31, at Parkwest Hospital. He was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, and was retired from Union Carbide. He was a 50 year member of Cherokee Lodge #728 F&AM, and Bearden Chapter 437, Order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Scarborough was preceded in death by his parents, J.E. and Lucy Scarborough; 2 brothers; 1 sister; his first wife, Ruby Clifton; and son, Dennis Scarborough. Survivors include his wife, Mildred Scarborough; 2 sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Doris Scarborough of Knoxville and Harold and Shirley Scarborough of Kingston; stepson, Robert Kirby; stepdaughter, Carolyn Hurst; sister and brother-in-law, Annabelle and Edgar Turpin; devoted brother-in-law, Roy Clifton and wife Irene, James Edsell; sister-in-law, Jeanne Scarborough; 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Claire Murphree. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday at the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Mike Willoughby and Billy Edmonds officiating. Interment will follow at 10 a.m. Monday at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens with family and friends meeting at the cemetery at 9:45 a.m. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Weaver Funeral Home, 5815 Western Ave. 865-588-3868.
