Services for Eugene McClellan, 60, of St. Paul, formerly of Beckley, will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Marks Episcopal Church in St. Paul with the Revs. Charles Menter, John Krulis and John Rausch officiating. Burial will follow in Temple Hill Memorial Park in St. Paul. Mr. McClellan died Monday evening after a mining accident at Moss No. 2 Mine of Clinchfield Coal Co., where he worked as a safety inspector, according to Ed Light, a mine foreman. While living In Beckley, he had been employed by Consolidation Coal Co. at Itmann. He was the son of Arminta Seaton McClellan of Louisville, Ken., and the late William F. McClellan. Mr. McClellan was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in St. Paul, Masonic Lodge of Freeburn, Ken., Cincinnati Consistory of Scottish Rite and was a past president of the Coal Operators Association of Williamson and a member of the Fire Eaters Association. Other survivors include his wife, Pauline McClellan, one son, William Frederick McClellan III of Wise, Va.; two daughters, Dixie Lee Ervin of Shelbyville, Tenn., and Polla Jean Farley of Beckley; three brothers. William McClellan of Detroit, Mich., Roscoe McClellan of Oveda, Fla., and Joseph McClellan of Moundsville; three sisters. Aileen McClellan, Betty Ann Duncan and Helen Decker. all of Louisville, Ky. Friends may call Wednesday from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Huff-Cook Funeral Home in St. Paul.

Abingdon -- Funeral services for Pauline Lusk McClellan will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Saint Thomas Episcopal Church in Abingdon by Huff-Cook Funeral Home of Castlewood. The Rev. Victor Mansfield will officiate. Burial will be in Temple Hill in Castlewood.  Mrs. McClellan, 79, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2000, in Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.  She was born in Williamson, W.Va., a daughter of the late Maurice and Canaby Lusk. She was educated in Bluefield, W.Va., schools. After graduation, she studied music at Mount Vernon Academy in Mount Vernon, Ohio. She was the widow of Albert Eugene "Gene" McClellan. She was of the Episcopal faith, a member of the White Shrine and served as Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star.  Surviving are two daughters, Dixie Lee McClellan of Arrington, Tenn., Polla Rumberg of Beckley, W.Va., and Fred McClellan of Abingdon; a brother, Maurice Lusk Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren.  Among survivors are grandchildren Gretchen Stalnaker of Shepherdstown, W.Va., and Jasame, Tai and Seaton McClellan of Abingdon; step-grandchildren Brian Rumbert of Charleston, W.Va., and Joey and Chad McDuffee of Nashville; sons-in-law Joel McDuffee and Gary Rumbert; and daughter-in-law Robin McClellan.  Pallbearers will be board members of the Birthplace of Country Music Alliance.  The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Music Fund, Saint Thomas Episcopal Church or the BCMA.  Huff-Cook Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
