BURLESON - P.A. Dixon, 70, a retired General Motors employee, died Thursday at a local hospital.

Funeral: Noon Monday at Laurel Land Funeral Home of Fort Worth. Burial: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The Rev. P.A. Dixon was born July 23, 1926, in Overton County, Tenn. He was pastor of East 38th Street Freewill Baptist Church in Anderson, Ind., for 32 years and retired from GM in 1983.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert Dixon and Mary Key Dixon.

Survivors: Wife, Ester Looper Dixon; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Glenda Dixon; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy Ann Dixon Shafer and Steve Shafer; brother, Irvin Dixon; sisters, Clara Hargis, Myrtle Vaughn and Ella D. Rains; grandchildren, Brian Dixon, Nora Earhart, Michelle Aaron, Neil Shafer and Valerie Shafer Bankson; and great-grandchildren, Joshua Dixon, Reanna Shafer and Zachary Earhart.
