The Rev. Clayton Olmus England, 80, of Crossville, passed away June 3, 2003. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 6, at Mt. Union Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ronnie Swallows and the Rev. Johnny Bertram officiating. Interment will follow in the Campground Cemetery in Fentress County.
The Rev. England was born Dec. 23, 1922 in Fentress County, TN, the son of George Corbin and Cora Jane Padgett England.
He was a member of Woody Freewill Baptist Church. For over 55 years, the Rev. England was a Freewill Baptist minister and served as pastor for eight churches: Portland Freewill Baptist, Woody Freewill Baptist, Union B. Freewill Baptist, Faith Chapel Independent Baptist, Sunnybrooke KY Freewill Baptist, Ridgedale Freewill Baptist, Tyler Point Freewill Baptist and Jonesville Freewill Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of 12 years, Mable Elmore England of Crossville; sons, Billy and Doyle England; stepsons, Reed, Tim and Glen Henry, all of Crossville; daughters, Oma Lee Denny and Judy Conley, both of Monterey, TN; stepdaughters, Sharon Edwards of Crossville and Karen Beaty of Monterey; sisters, Myrtle Farr of Clarkrange and Geneva Lane of Crossville; 23 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Flossie Miller England; brother, Club England; and sister, Mary Jane England.
Pallbearers will be Arvin Vaughn, Goodman Thompson, Herbert Ashburn, Joe Carr, Leamon Swallows and Andy Honeycutt.
Horner Funeral Home in Cookeville is in charge of the arrangements.

Funeral services for Rev. Billy Joe England, 56, of Crossville, were conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, July 12, 2004, from Mineral Springs Freewill Baptist Church. Burial was in Mineral Springs Cemetery with Rev. Troy England, Bro. Mike Kirby, Rev. Aron Dillon, and Rev. Johnny Bertram officiating. Rev. England died Thursday, July 8 at his home. He was a Freewill Baptist minister for more than 30 years having travelled as an evangelist in Indiana, Kentucky, Georgia, and Tennessee. A member of Pilgrim Freewill Baptist Church in Fentress County, he was employed as a construction worker, a truck driver, and recently with Tubular Products in Livingston. Born January 9, 1948, in Fentress County, he was the son of the late Rev. Olmus and Flossie Mae (Miller) England. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Marvin Shane England; a sister, Mary Jane England; a sister-in-law, Marie Raver; a brother-in-law, Junior Denny; and a grandson, Brandon Noel England. Survivors include his wife, Betty (Brown) England of Crossville; five sons, Kemmy Joe England and Jamie Noel England, both of Crossville, Clayton Jimmy England and Richard Paul England, both of Indianapolis, IN, and Troy Dewayne England of Crawford; a brother, Doyle England of Clarkrange; two sisters, Judy Conley and Oma Lee Denny, both of Monterey; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Virgle and Hessie Brown of Greenfield, IN; and 15 grandchildren. Special care provided by Goff Funeral Home of Monterey.
