Burial: after 1 January 1896, Bethesda Cemetery, Pope County, Illinois. John entered the U.S. Army in July 1836 and served in Capt. Vernon's Tennessee Volunteers in the Cherokee Indian War; discharged July 1837. he removed to Gallitin County, Illinois, then to Pope County. John was a physician.
