Death: 15 November 1994, age 71, Chattanooga, Hamilton County, Tennessee. I know my dad (RHN) tried to enlist in WWII, but he was 4F. He had lost his vision in one eye from a childhood accident. You couldn’t tell by looking at him, that he was blind in that eye, and I didn’t even know it until I was in my 20’s. My mom said that it broke his heart that we couldn’t join the army. (George R.
