Nearly every record I have found lists his name as P.W. Shannon or as Preston W. Shannon. However, he witnessed an affidavit for Sarah Peters (nee Sarah England) in her application for a widow's pension for the service of her husband Thomas Peters in the War of 1812. On that affadavit, Preston W. Shannon signed his name as Preston Wm. Shannon. (RGB)
