Dean Slaton, 48, Gary, Ind., died at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2005, at the home of his parents in Rushville. He was born Nov. 27, 1956 in Villa Ridge, the son of John and Barbara (Cowles) Slaton. He is survived by his parents; one sister, Pamela Hill, Macomb; three brothers, Phillip (Donna) Slaton, Galesburg, Stuart (Helen) Slaton, Jacksonville, and Douglas (Barb) Slaton, Knoxville. He was an accountant for AMOCO Oil, Chicago and was a member of the Midwest Sacred Harp Singers. Cremation has been accorded. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
