He died on 1 October 1868 at the age of 39. Died at an early age. (The Relationship of the Peters Family to the growth and Developement of Burrville and Morgan County.) Note: I'm not sure that the book got it quite right that he "died at an early age". Age 39 is not usually described as "early". On the other hand, I am not 100% sure that we are correct to identify Robert Peters and Ichabod Peters as being the same person. Some researchers have Robert as Robert B. Peters.
