Jasper died on 8 November 1890 at the age of 55 in McMinnville, Yamhill County, Oregon.25

He was of a Methodist family, his grandfather on his Mother's side being a Methodist preacher. He was converted and united with the Methodist church when about 20 years old, and lived an exemplary life all through the years. He was granted a license to preach September 8th, 1860. The deceased was one of a family of 13 children, two of the whom died when young, of the remaining 11- five sons and six daughters-- he was the first to be called home. Besides the brothers and sisters, deceased leaves to mourn an aged father and wife, two sons and an an adopted daughter.

He taught school in the days before the Civil War and afterwards. He farmed at the same time. On November 18, 1890, on their twenty-fourth wedding anniversary. Mr. Cobb fell from a building and was killed. Since that time "Aunt Pop" his wife, made her home with her son William M. Cobb.

He was buried about 9 November 1890 in McMinnville, Yamhill County, Oregon.25

Jasper Newton Cobb and Mary Ann (Polly) McGee were married on 18 November 1866 in Sullivan County, Missouri.

Mary Ann (Polly) McGee25,71,72,73, daughter of John Jacob McGee and Nancy Teague, was born on 7 June 1839 in Anderson County, Tennessee.

She appeared in the census in 1840 in Anderson County, Tennessee. Age 00--4, enumerated in the household of her father Jacob McGee.

She appeared in the census in 1850 in Sullivan County, Missouri. Pollyann 10 f w TN attended school.

She died on 7 February 1941 at the age of 101 in Odessa Cemetery, Lafayette County, Missouri.25

Polly Ann McGee born 7 June 1839 in Anderson County, Tennessee to Jacob McGee and Nancy (Teague) McGee, and was brought to Jackson township, Johnson County in 1841 at age two. She married Jasper Newton Cobb on 18 November 1866, Sullivan County, Missouri. To this union two sons where born, William Marion and Madison Leroy. She raised a neice, Nancy Sue (McGee) Edwards of Seattle, Washington, reared as her own. Jasper Newton Cobb died on their twenty-fourth wedding anniversary by a fall from a building roof. He died, 18 November 1890 in McMinnville, Oregon. "Aunt Pop" as she was lovingly called by friends and family. At age 98 did not need glasses to see well. After her 90 th birthday she had fell and broke both hips but was still able to walk with out crutches.

She came from a family of eleven children. One sister, Mrs. Sarah (McGee) Pile lived past eightysix, and sister Mrs. Catherine (McGee) Dearing lived to be ninety-six, the other nine died before her. She died at her home three miles northwest of Pittsville, Mo. She is survived by her two sons, nine grand children, and twenty great grand children. She died on the same farm where she and her husband, Jasper, moved on that long-ago day of their marriage, back in 1866.

Mary was buried about 9 February 1941 in Cobb Family Cemetery, Johnson County, Missouri.25
