I believe John Petree was the son of George H. Petree and Cynthia (Syntha) Turner, both of Anderson County, Tennessee. I have no known connections to them whatsoever. I include them only to provide a certain closure. In the 1850 Anderson County, Tennessee census they are often mis-transcribed as Peters rather than as Petree I spent a lot of time trying to figure out how George Peters fit into my Peters family until I realized that George's surname was Petree I believe that John Petree's wife was Jane Cheek, m. 21 Sep 1865 in Campbell County, Tennessee. |
