Dr. William Brittain Tunnell was the son of Sintha Cross and James Monroe Tunnell. As such, he was the grandson of Brittain Cross and Mary (Polly) Parks. Brittain Cross was the founder of one of two branches of the Cross family in Anderson County, Tennessee. Sintha Cross moved to Missouri about 1841, shortly after she married.. All three of her brothers remained in Anderson County. |
