Samuel Rutherford (Rutherford) Peters was the son of Robert Ichabod Peters and Amanda (Mandy) Davidson. Rutherford's father died in 1868. His mother and younger brothers and sisters were living next door in dwelling number 188. Rutherford's wife was Martha Jane Austin. T.F. was Timothy Fleetwood Peters, who was named for Rutherford's brother Timothy Fleetwood Peters. Robert Ichabod Peters was the son of James Peters and Rachel McCart, and the grandson of Tobias Peters and Elizabeth Rachel Scarborough. The family was from Anderson County, Tennessee where James was born, and then from Morgan County, Tennessee where James raised his own family. Notwithstanding the lack of family relationships being listed in the census, this census entry was for a husband, wife, and their three children. |

Mandy was Amanda (Mandy) Davidson, widow of Robert Ichabod Peters who died in 1868. Robert Ichabod Peters was the son of James Peters and Rachel McCart. James Peters was the son of Tobias Peters and Elizabeth Rachel Scarborough. The family was from Anderson County, Tennessee where James was born, and then from Morgan County, Tennessee where James raised his own family.
