Elkanah D. Cross is a candidate to have been the son of my fourth great grandfather William Cross the Revolutionary War drummer boy of Anderson County, Tennessee.  In an 1888 Anderson County lawsuit, the heirs of Elkanah Cross received a full 1/9 share of the proceeds of the sale of land that originally had been William Cross's.  This may have been that Elkanah Cross.  In his 1850 census entry, Elkanah was still a bachelor and he was listed as having been born in Tennessee.
