Rosella Kaylor age 5 married Richard Elzie Dillavou Sr. before 1934.  Richard was the son of Elza George (Elzie) Dillavou and Nora Vivian Belcher.  Nora's second husband was William Carlos (Carlos) Bryan.  Therefore, Richard Dillavou Sr. was the stepson of Carlos Bryan, and Richard Dillavou Jr. was the step grandson of Carlos Bryan.  I have spoken with Richard Dillavou Jr., and he is the source of most of my information on this branch of the family.

Carlos Bryan was the son of Silas Anderson Bryan and Amanda Melzina (Mandy) Slaton.  Uncle Silas was the son of my second great grandparents William Allen (Will) Bryan and Malissa E. Underwood.  As such, Uncle Silas was the brother of my great grandfather William Harley (Harley) Bryan.  Aunt Mandy was the daughter of Francis Marion (Frank) Slaton and Mary Anne Moore.  As such, Aunt Mandy was the niece of my second great grandmother Susan A. Slaton.

Carlos "went west" from Sevier County, Tennessee sometime between 1910 and 1920, and was enumerated in the 1920 census in Imperial County, California.  A couple of Mandy Slaton's brothers had settled in Imperial County in the early 1900's, and Carlos apparently was joining his uncles when he moved to California.
