Chester Raymond Nichols age 21 was the son of Franklin Wesley (Frank) Nichols and Cora M. Corbett and the grandson of my second great grandparents John H.B. Nichols and Martha P. Reneau. As such, Frank was the brother of my great grandmother Clarissa Loretta (Rett) Nichols, and Chester was the first cousin of my grandmother Ruby Priscilla Cox. Chester was enumerated as a roomer in the household of Matthew Vogalsong. There is no known family relationship between Chester and Matthew, and it was a very large boarding house. Because of the size of the household and the lack of any family relationships, I did not transcribe the rest of the household. The transcription of the birth place of Chester's mother as Wisconsin is correct, but all other available records indicate that Cora Corbett was born in Tennessee. The original enumerator therefore must have made a mistake. |

James Mell (Mell) Schrader age 24 was the son of Jesse G. Schrader and Mary E. Mell's brother Harry Schrader was living next door. Two Schrader brothers had married two Cox sisters. |
