Sarah Elizabeth Bryan age 35 was the daughter of Peter Grantham Bryan and Maria Wright. Peter Grantham Bryan was the son of Allen Ludwell Bryan and Phoebe Boggess. As such, Peter Grantham Bryan was the nephew of my fourth great grandfather Thomas C. Bryan Sr. and the first cousin of my third great grandfather Peter H. Bryan. Robert Eanes Hill age 40 was the son of Robert Hill and Mary Ann Eanes. The daughter Willie Ann Hill age 12 was listed incorrectly as a son age 2 in the 1870 census. |

Paralee Phoebe (Phoebe) Bryan age 35 was the daughter of Peter Grantham Bryan and Maria Wright. Phoebe was actually born in 1843, and was a year or two older than her sister Sarah from dwelling number 280 above. Peter Grantham Bryan was the son of Allen Ludwell Bryan and Phoebe Boggess. As such, Peter Grantham Bryan was the nephew of my fourth great grandfather Thomas C. Bryan Sr. and the first cousin of my third great grandfather Peter H. Bryan. Phoebe's husband was James Jasper Adams. James was almost certainly 39 years old rather than 29 years old at the time of the 1880 census. |
