Phebe Cox was probably the daughter of my fourth great grandparents Reuben Cox and Susannah Padgett, or else she might have been Reuben's youngest sister.  Phebe's husband Thomas Storie died in 1840.  The family was from Wilkes County, North Carolina.  Phebe moved to Caldwell County between 1840 and 1850.

Silas Cox was the son of my fourth great grandparents Reuben Cox and Susannah Padgett.  As such, Silas was the brother of my third great grandfather Riley Cox.  The family was from Wilkes County, North Carolina and they moved to nearby Caldwell County between 1840 and 1850.

There is a discrepancy that I cannot explain.  Silas married Isabella Kirby in 1829 in Wilkes County.  I do not know if Mary and Isabella were the same person, or if perhaps Isabella died and Silas married a second time.  The list of children are certainly correct for Silas's children.
