George
  Jacob 110001 -000001
  William 2020001-0010001
  James 000201 -2210001

My third great grandmother Rebecca Frances George married my third great grandfather Thomas Fielden Slaton in 1840 in Stokes County, North Carolina.  I am investigating the possibility that Jacob, William, or James was Rebecca's father.  But I don't think it was any of the three.

William George was born about 1790 and married Catherine Strube on 24 Mar 1825.  Rebecca Frances George was born on 7 Mar 1816.  If William was her father, it would have had to have been from a previous marriage.

Jacob George was born about 1801 and married Anna Nancy Boner on 13 Oct 1832.  He was really too young to have had a previous wife in time to be the father of Rebecca Frances George.

James George was born about 1799 and married Leah Strube on 2 Aug 1819.  James couldn't have been the father of Rebecca Frances George unless it was by a previous wife, and this seems unlikely.

Thomas Fielden Slaton and Rebecca Frances George were my third great grandparents.  They were married on 14 Feb 1840 in Stokes County.

Thomas Fielden Slaton was the son of William Slaydon and Susannah Flippin.

Rebecca Frances George's parents are as yet unknown and are a matter of intense research.  The most likely candidates are Presley George Sr. and Mary Cook.

I do not know if this Francis Slaten was related to any of my Slatons in Stokes County or not.  I will simply note that my third great grandfather Thomas Fielden Slaton had a son named Francis Marion SlatonThomas was living in Stokes County in 1840, as was his father William Slaydon.
