Mary Ann Fairley age 00-04 married Daniel Boone Bryan in 1858 in Mercer County, Missouri. Daniel was the son of Ahaz Bryan Sr. and Mary (Polly) Webb. Ahaz Bryan Sr. was the nephew of my fifth great grandfather Peter Bryan and the first cousin of my fourth great grandfather Thomas C. Bryan Sr. Mary Jane Fairley was the daughter of David Fairley and Mary Bryan. Mary Bryan age 51 may have been the daughter of Cornelius Bryan. This particular Cornelius may or may not have been one of mine, despite the fact that the given name of Cornelius was common in my line. He was born in 1760 in Charles County, Maryland. There is no known connection between Bryans in Charles County and my Bryans in Augusta County and Rockingham County, Virginia. Some sources list Mary's surname as Hyde. The two interpretations are not necessarily mutually exclusive. She could have been Mary Hyde who married first a Bryan and married second David Fairley, or she could have been Mary Bryan who married first a Hyde and married second David Fairley. In the former case, Mary obviously would not have been the daughter of Cornelius Bryan. |
