My interest in this family is that I believe that this Daniel McGurk later married Elizabeth Rebecca Cobb who was the daughter of Mary (Polly) Peters of Anderson County, Tennessee. Phoebe appears to have been Daniel's first wife. She apparently died 1870/1880 because Daniel was married to Josephine in the 1880 census. The marriage to Elizabeth Rebecca Cobb was apparently 1880/1900. J. W. McGurk was Joseph W. McGurk. E.P. was Elmer P. McGurk. S.A. was Sarah A. McGurk. W. E. was Warren E. McGurk. A son John was age 12 in the 1880 census, so John should have been about 2 years old in the 1870 census. But John was missing in 1870. |
