My interest in this family is that I believe that this Daniel McGurk later married Elizabeth Rebecca Cobb who was the daughter of Mary (Polly) Peters of Anderson County, Tennessee. It appears that Daniel McGurk had been married twice as of the 1880 census, with Josephine having been the mother of Charles and Ellie, and with Daniel's first wife having been the mother of all the older children. Daniel McGurk's family was the second family living in dwelling number 258. The first family was headed by John Bair. I wonder if Josephine was John Bair's daughter. |
