Florence Marie Brown age 5 later married my father's brother William Jackson (Jack) Bryan.  Aunt Florence's sister Francis was known as Frankie.

The census enumerator originally listed Maud as "wife", and he listed Florence and Francis as "daughter".  But he crossed out those designations and replaced them with "boarder" because Maud, Florence, and Francis were the wife and daughters of Jim Brown rather than the wife and daughters of the head of household Mack Smith.

Gypsy Gertrude Lane was the daughter of Joseph Marshall (Marshall) Lane and Frances Rebecca (Rebecca) May.  So Gypsy was one of mine, also.  Rebecca May was the great granddaughter of Tobias Peters Sr. (Tobias Sr. to Tobias Jr. to Judy Peters to Rebecca May).  Rebecca May was the second great granddaughter of my fifth great grandparents Thomas May and Maria Catherine Emerich (Thomas May to Michael May Sr. to James Madison (Madison) May to Richard Michael (Michael) May to Rebecca).

Thomas Cobb (Tom) Peters was the son of Samuel Tobias (Sam) Peters and Sarah Catherine (Katie) Rogers.  Sam Peters in turn was the son of Tobias Peters Jr. and the grandson of Tobias Peters Sr.

Tom's wife was Alice Rose.  It appears that the enumerator listed Alice's sister's given name as Rose, when it should have been her surname that was Rose.

Thomas middle name is a little puzzling.  On the one hand, there were a number of Cobb-Peters marriages.  So it doesn't seem unreasonable that person with the Peters surname would carry Cobb as a middle name.  On the other hand, I cannot find any evidence that Thomas Cobb Peters himself was descended from a Cobb-Peters marriage.  So I don't understand why his middle name was Cobb.

E.

Alva Edward Peters age 58 and Sallie Jane Cole age 59 were my great grandparents.  Alva Edward Peters was the son of John H. Peters and Hulda Asberine (Asberine or Asby) CrossSallie Jane Cole was the daughter of William Cole and Vesta Clay England.

Hulda Asberine (Asberine or Asby) Cross and Vesta Clay England were first cousins.  So Alva Edward Peters and Sallie Jane Cole were second cousins who married.  Also, John H. Peters and Hulda Asberine (Asberine or Asby) Cross were second cousins who married, and John H. Peters and Vesta Clay England were second cousins.  So Alva Edward Peters and Sallie Jane Cole were a good bit more closely related than typical second cousins.

Uncle Bob age 22 and Uncle Arthur age 20 were the youngest brothers of my grandfather Ernest Lester (Lester) Peters Sr.  I believe that "Robert C. Peters" is a correct transcription, but Uncle Bob's name was Robert Earl Peters.  Uncle Arthur's full name was Samuel Arthur Peters.

John's wife was Eva York age 36.  John and Eva were married on 7 Sep 1928 in Anderson County.  It was John's third marriage and I believe it was Eva's first.  I believe that all of the children were Eva's rather than some of them being John's children from a previous marriage.  If so, then John and Eva must have lived together for several years before they were married.  I do not know how Ella M. Patterson fits into the family.

The ages for both Cora L. age 3 and John D. age 1 included some number of months.  But I couldn't decipher the number of months, so I left it blank in my transcription.
