 40-49 1 1 1791-1800 David Key, Nancy Bright

Martha M. Key age 10-14 married first Warren J. Hyden in Blount County, married second William Cole in Knox County, and married third Joseph Yarnell in Knox County.

There is considerable evidence that suggests that Martha's second husband William Cole was the first cousin of my second great grandfather William Cole.  One piece of such evidence is that there was some land in Knox County that was purchased by Martha and that apparently was inhabited by my William Cole for a while.

Martha M. Key was the daughter of David Key and Nancy Bright.

In addition to the marriage of William Cole and Martha M. Key in Knox County, there was a marriage of George Cole and Elizabeth Ann (Ann) Cole in Knox County.  I believe that William and George were brothers.  The 1860 and 1870 censuses suggest that Ann was the daughter of David Key and Nancy Bright, so that two brothers married two sisters.  However, Ann does not appear to be present in the David Key family in the 1850 census, nor in any other Key family in the 1850 census.  Ann was the correct age to have been Nancy Key age 18 in the 1850 census.  Perhaps Ann and Nancy were the same person, named Nancy Elizabeth Ann (Ann) Key.

 20-29 1 1 1811-1820 Sarah Mariah (Sallie) Bryan
 30-39 1 1801-1810 John Fouche Henry

Sarah Mariah (Sallie) Bryan age 20-29 was the daughter of Allen S. Bryan Sr. and Elizabeth McSpadden.  As such, Sallie was the nephew of my fifth great grandfather Peter Bryan.

Sarah Mariah (Sallie) Bryan married John Fouche Henry on 8 Sep 1831 in Sevier County, Tennessee.  So this is the first census after they were married.  They only had one child, Elizabeth Jane (Lizzy) Henry, who was born in 1832.

The male age 20-29 is unknown.  It's possible that John Fouche Henry himself was the male age 20-29, and that the male age 30-39 was John's brother James (Buster) Henry.  The ages don't work out quite right for that possibility because John was born about 1808 and James was born about 1798.  But it is the case that James lived with John for much of his adult life.
