  60-69 1811-1820 1 Alfred B. Bryan

According to death records from Kentucky, Alfred B. Bryan was born in Stokes County, North Carolina about 1783.  However, that means that he was really born in Surry County, North Carolina because Stokes County was created from Surry County in 1789.  I believe that he might have been descended from Morgan Bryan and Martha Strode.  However, his ancestry is not proven.

Alfred died in 1858 in Monroe County, Kentucky.  However, he cannot be located in the 1850 census.  It is not clear exactly when he moved from Tennessee to Kentucky.

I'm interested in Alfred primarily because he very likely was the father of David Anderson Bryan, and David Anderson Bryan moved to Sevier County.  See below for more on David Anderson Bryan.

David Anderson Bryan was born in North Carolina about 1818.  He later moved to Sevier County, Tennessee.  I believe that his father may have been Alfred B. Bryan, and that they might have been descended from Morgan Bryan and Martha Strode.  However, David's ancestry is not proven.

I do not have proof positive, but I believe that Richard Cole age 50-59 and his wife Margaret age 50-59 were my fourth great grandparents.  Martin Cole age 20-29 was their son.  I believe that Martin was my third great grandfather.

James Cole age 20-29 was the son of Richard Cole and Margaret who were living next door.  I believe the Richard and Margaret were my fourth great grandparents, and that their son Martin was my third great grandfather.  James was Martin's older brother.
