Many researchers list William Martin Bray age 17 as the son of my third great grandparents Edward Payne Bray and Anna F. Messamore.  Edward Payne Bray and Anna F. Messamore did have a son named William M. Bray who was born about 1844, but I have confirmed that this William M. Bray was a different one.  This census entry alone would seem almost adequate evidence, but I have also found the death certificate for William Martin Bray which says that he was the son of John Bray and Manerva Ann Walker.

John Bray was the son of Harmon Bray.  I believe that they in fact were John Harmon Bray Jr. and John Harmon Bray Sr., with this census entry being the one for John Harmon Bray Jr.

Among the children listed above, W. M. Bray was the aforementioned William Martin Bray, N. J. Bray was Nancy Jane Bray, F. R. Bray was Felix R. Bray, E. G. Bray was Elisha G. Bray, S. A. R. Bray was Sarah Ann R. Bray, and C.L. was Curry L. Bray.
