I would have expected to see both.

John Messamore age 20-29 was the son of my fourth great grandparents William/Wilhelm Messamore and Margarethe Elisabeth (Peggy) May.  As such, John was the brother of my third great grandmother Anna F. Messamore.

Elizabeth (Betsy) Minton age 20-29 was the daughter of Ebenezer Minton and Elizabeth Fletcher.  Betsy Minton and John Messamore were married on 24 Apr 1827 in Knox County.

I believe that William Heath age 50-59 was the father of Sarah (Sary) Heath who married James Messamore.  James Messamore was the brother of my third great grandmother Anna F. Messamore.

 60-69 1 0 1761-1770 William/Wilhelm Messamore
 70-79 1 1751-1760 Maria Catherine Emerich?

William/Wilhelm Messamore age 60-69 and Margarethe Elizabeth (Peggy) May age 50-59 were my fourth great grandparents.  They were married on 22 Aug 1799 in Rockingham County, Virginia.

William/Wilhelm Messamore was the son of Jacob Messimer Sr. and Catherine Mauck.

Margarethe Elizabeth (Peggy) May was the daughter of Thomas May Sr. and Maria Catherine Emerich.  There were a large number of May family members in Anderson County, Tennessee.

It's only a guess that the older female was Maria Catherine Emerich.  It does seem likely that the older female was either Maria Catherine Emerich or Catherine Mauck.  If so, then the age of the person works out better to be Maria Catherine Emerich.  But it's only a guess, and the guess really isn't verifiable.

James married Sarah (Sary) Heath age 20-29 on 2 Aug 1925 in Knox County, Tennessee.  I believe that Sary was the daughter of William Heath.

It's hard to know for sure if John Cole was the male age 70-79 or the male age 40-49.  Also, I am looking for a Thomas Cole b. about 1806 who was probably living in Knox County in 1830, but who didn't appear as head of household in the 1830 census in Knox County.  He married Margaret Tillery in 1827.
