1900 Census, Overton County, Tennessee

Thomas Burton (Burt) England was the son of Robert M. England and Martha D. Norris.  This England line does not lead back to my England family in Anderson County, Tennessee.  Rather, it leads back to Burke County, North Carolina.  I think there's a good possibility that my England family and the line of Robert M. England may connect up back in Burke County, but this is not proven.

Burt's wife was Verline (Verlie) Harris.

James Wilburn (Wilburn or William) England was the son of my third great grandparents John England and Jane Peters.  As such, William was the brother of my second great grandmother Vesta Clay (Vestie) England.

William was born about 1848, but his census age drifts a bit from census to census.  His name in the 1850 census was James W. England, in the 1860 census it was Willburn, and in the 1870 census it was Willburn.  It appears that his name was James Willburn England, and that he was known as Willburn or William.  William married Margaret Jones on 17 Aug 1878 in Morgan County.

Leona Boman age 15 later married Bradford L. (Brad) England.  Brad was the son of Robert Lakey England and Martha Jane (Jane) Jones.

Robert Lakey England was the son of my third great grandparents John England and Jane Peters.  As such, Robert was the brother of my second great grandmother Vesta Clay (Vestie) England, and Brad was the first cousin of my great grandmother Sallie Jane Cole.

Cordelia (Cora) England was the daughter of James Wilburn (Wilburn or William) England and Margarett Jones.  As such, Cora was the niece of my second great grandmother Vesta Clay England.  William and Vesta were children of my third great grandparents John England and Jane (Jenny) Peters.

William T. (Bill) Sisco was the son of John Sisco and Mirilda Jane Looper.

Rosetta England was the daughter of Luke England and Letitia Parthena Smith.  As such, Rosetta was the niece of my second great grandmother Vesta Clay England.  Luke and Vesta were children of my third great grandparents John England and Jane (Jenny) Peters.

John Mitchell (Mitchell) Sisco was the son of John Sisco and Mirilda Jane Looper.

My England family was from Anderson County, Tennessee.  John England and Jane (Jenny) Peters were both born in Anderson County, as were their children Luke and Vesta.  Luke England and Letitia Parthena Smith were married in Morgan County, and Rosetta England was born in Morgan County.  Luke and Letitia moved from Morgan County to Overton County sometime between 1900 and 1910, but their daughter Rosetta was already living in Overton County by 1900.

Robert Lakey England was the son of my third great grandparents John England and Jane Peters.  As such, Robert was the brother of my second great grandmother Vesta Clay (Vestie) England.

Robert's wife was Martha Jane (Jane) Jones.

Burdming England age 17 was John Byrd England who was born either 3 Jul 1879 or 3 Jul 1880.  It makes me wonder how accurate the ages were for the rest of the children.

Willie J. Looper age 18 later married Martha Emmer (Emmer) England.  Emmer was the daughter of James William (William or Wilburn) England and Margaret Jones.  William was the brother of my second great grandmother Vesta Clay England.  William and Vesta were children of my third great grandparents John England and Jane (Jennie) Peters.

Bill Lee Barker age 8 later married Sarah J. England.  Sarah was the daughter of James William (William or Wilburn or Bill) England and Margaret Jones.  James William England was the son of my third great grandparents John England and Jane (Jennie) Peters.  As such, James William England was the brother of my second great grandmother Vesta Clay England, and Sarah J. England was the first cousin of my great grandmother Sallie Jane Cole.
