William A. Cole age 27 was not the correct age to have been my second great grandfather William Cole who married Vesta Clay England in 1865 in Anderson County, Tennessee.  My William was born about 1847 in Tennessee.  This William was born about 1833 in North Carolina.

William Cole age 13 was the correct age in 1860 to have been my second great grandfather William Cole who married Vesta Clay England in 1865 in Anderson County, Tennessee.  However, this William Cole seems unlikely to have been the correct one because of geography.  Putnam County is a long way from Anderson County, and is the wrong direction to account for a more typical east to west migration pattern.

In addition, this appears to have been William H. Cole b. 27 Mar 1848 who married Laura Seabolt 3 Mar 1871 in White County, Tennessee.  White County is adjacent to Putnam County, and both counties are in Middle Tennessee.

The parents in this family were Solomon Robinson Cole and Sarah Gambrell.  Solomon was the son of Isham Cole and Emily Bussell.
