William A. Cole age 36 was not the correct age to have been my second great grandfather William Cole who married Vesta Clay England in 1865 in Anderson County, Tennessee. My William was born about 1847 in Tennessee. This William was born about 1833 in North Carolina. Well, the 1870 census says he was born in Tennessee, but the 1860 census says that he was born in North Carolina. Anderson Cole age 72 was William A. Cole's father. I believe Sarah J. Cole age 18 was William A. Cole's wife, but I do not know her surname. |

Mary Jane (Molly) Smith age 11 later married Thomas Blufford Peters. Julia Anna (Anna) Smith age 4 later married John Wesley (Wesley) Peters. Molly and Anna were the daughters of William M. Smith and Louisa Ashburn. Thomas Blufford Peters and John Wesley (Wesley) Peters were the sons of Henry Clark (Clark) Peters and Perlina Ann Shilling. So two Smith sisters married two Peters brothers. Thomas Blufford Peters and John Wesley (Wesley) Peters were two of mine, but there nevertheless is a bit of uncertainty about their ancestry. Their father Henry Clark (Clark) Peters was the son either of Henry Peters Jr. or of Thomas Peters. Henry Jr. and Thomas were brothers, and both of them were my fourth great grandfathers. |
