John Fowler Cross was the son of my third great grandparents Alfred Carter Cross and Zipporah Peters.  As such, he was the brother of my second great grandmother Hulda Asberine Cross.

John Fowler Cross married Rachel Todd on 20 Mar 1871.  They apparently removed to Fentress County before 1880.  A large number of Peters did the same thing.

Rachel Todd was b. 5 Mar 1852 in Washington County, Virginia, the daughter of William G. Todd and Amanda Jane Gobble.

John Deck/Delk and his wife Lucy Ann were the parents of Nancy Olive (Ollie) Delk who married John Wesley Peters Sr.  John Wesley Peters Sr. was the son of Welborn/Wilborn Harvey (Harve) Peters and Mary Jane Todd.  Harve Peters was the son of Henry Clark (Clark) Peters and Perlina Shilling, and the grandson of my fourth great grandparents Thomas Peters and Sarah (Sallie) England.

Wilborn Harvey (Harve) Peters age 28 was the son of Henry Clark (Clark) Peters and Perlina Ann Shilling.  The children were John Wesley Peters age 5, William Henry (Henry) Peters age 3, and Paulina Jane Peters age 1.

The birth place of Harve's mother is incorrect, because she was born in Virginia.  Her birthplace is listed correctly in the entry for Harve's brother Thomas Blufford Peters who was living two houses away (see dwelling number 218 below).

Mary Jane Todd age 24 was the daughter of William G. Todd and Amanda Jane Gobble.  Harve and Mary were married on 2 Nov 1871 in Anderson County, Tennessee.

Harve Peters was one of mine, but there nevertheless is a bit of uncertainty about his ancestry.  Harve's father Henry Clark (Clark) Peters was the son either of Henry Peters Jr. or of Thomas PetersHenry Jr. and Thomas were brothers, and both of them were my fourth great grandfathers.

Julia Anna (Anna) Smith age 14 later married John Wesley (Wesley) Peters.  Anna was the daughter of William M. Smith and Louisa Ashburn.

Anna's older sister Mary Jane (Molly) Smith married Thomas Blufford Peters (see dwelling number 218 next door).  John Wesley (Wesley) Peters and Thomas Blufford Peters were the sons of Henry Clark (Clark) Peters and Perlina Ann Shilling.  So two Smith sisters married two Peters brothers.

Thomas Blufford Peters and John Wesley (Wesley) Peters were two of mine, but there nevertheless is a bit of uncertainty about their ancestry.  Their father Henry Clark (Clark) Peters was the son either of Henry Peters Jr. or of Thomas PetersHenry Jr. and Thomas were brothers, and both of them were my fourth great grandfathers.

Kisarah Potter age 15 who was born in Scott County, Tennessee married E. F. Peters who was born in Anderson County, Tennessee.  I have not found the marriage record, but if (as is likely) they were married in Fentress County, the record would have been destroyed in the courthouse fire in 1905.  Elijah Franklin Peters was the son of Wesley M. Peters and Catherine Paul.  They had a daughter Bettie who was born in Fentress County, Tennessee.  Bettie Peters married a Kring.  Bettie was b. 1889 and d. 1922 in Morgan County, Tennessee.
