Amanda Davidson was the daughter of Samuel Davidson and Elizabeth Russell. In 1870, Amanda was the widow of Robert Ichabod Peters. Robert Ichabod Peters was the son of James Peters and Rachel McCart, and the grandson of Tobias Peters Sr. and Elizabeth Rachel Scarborough. A couple of the spellings were extremely creative. The 16 year old male was Samuel Rutherford (Rutherford) Peters. The 15 year old male was Timothy Fleetwood Peters. I assume from Elizabeth's birthplace that the family must have spent at least part of the Civil War in Kentucky. The family was pro-Union, and White County was in a section of Tennessee that was strongly pro-Confederacy. |
