| Obituary | The Virginian-Pilot [Norfolk, Virginia], 16 May 1996, page B4. Wilma Tindell Evans, 76, of the 2100 block of Battery Park Road, died May 14, 1996, in her residence. Mrs. Evans, a native of Knox County, Tenn., was the widow of Elvis P. Evans Sr. She retired from Maryview Hospital as a registered nurse after 20 years. She was a member of Deep Creek United Methodist Church, Chesapeake, and American Nurses Association. Survivors include a daughter, Judith Anne Evans of Virginia Beach; a son, Elvis P. Evans Jr. of Chesapeake; two sisters, Frances Mackay of Ontario, Canada, Ada Mattax of Clifton Forge, Va.; and two grandchildren, Ericka Bailey and Alexander Evans. The funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Bradford L. Phillips at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. |
