David Sampson Cole, married first Martha Jane Crawford, married second Nancy Isabella Crawford. Thomas Lamar Cole was the daughter of Nancy Isabella Crawford.
Sampson David Cole was a saddle maker. He moved from Virginia either to Jefferson County, Tennessee or to Anderson County, Tennessee. He was Justice of the Peace in Anderson County at one point. He was a founding member of the Washington Church in the Ritta community of Knox County. His granddaughter Mary Cole Harris still attends the church as of January, 2002
