Fourth Generation

124. Joseph Edward (Ed) Bray18,55,123,136,150,170,171,172. Birth: 29 August 1886, Anderson County, Tennessee.55,136,171,172 Hawkins Mortuary records list his birth as 29 Aug 1887 in Greene County, Tennessee and they list his parents as Joshua Bray and Salina Moore. But it is uncertain as to whether he was born in 1886 or 1887. Also, it is the case that his parents were Joseph Bray and Salina Moore. His WWI draft registration card says that he was born in Anderson County on 29 Aug 1886. It seems likely that he was born in Anderson County or Loudon County, and extremely unlikely that he was born in Greene County. There are records which list his name as Joseph Edward Bray, and other records which list his name as Edward J. Bray. He was known as Edward or as Ed. He signed his name on his father's death certificate as J.E. Bray.
