A note regarding Grandpa Ernest Leonard Wall from James E. Wall: He received the Carnegie Presidential Medal of Honor from President Eisenhower for saving the life of a young girl who had crawled onto the railroad tracks. Grandpa Wall was a train conductor for Santa Fe Railroad and leaped from the moving train grabbed the girl off the tracks and proceeded to fall into a stone quarry. He experienced health problems for the remainder of his life though he died from Emphysema caused by being a lifetime smoker. He was awarded the Presidential Medal of Honor 5 November 1952. He and Grandma Wall are buried Walnut Valley Memorial Park, El Dorado, Butler Co. Kansas This is the same Medal of Honor the passengers of the plane that went down in Pennsylvania during the 11 Sept 2001 attack on America by the Bin Laden network received posthumously.
