Walt Brady was born February15, 1862 and lived a very interesting life
in the old west. He was a rancher,scout, cowhand, friend to sheriffs
and outlaws. He was a friend of the Apache Chief Geronimo and owned a
saloon in Gallup, New Mexico when he was 19 yearsold. He was a cattle
trader at the Fort Worth stockyards later in his life.He was a boyhood
friend in Decatur, Texas, with H.H. Halsell of the large Halsell Ranch.
Halsell wrote about Walter in his book, Cowboys and Cattle land in1937.
(pg. 94-95. Walt died March 3, 1945 at age 83 in Fort Worth, Texas, and
is buried at Mount Olivet Cemetery.
