Bill Kleinecke states that the following was taken from the book, "Pioneer History of Wise County" [Texas] by Cates.

He was a carpenter, and built his father a house before leaving Pennsylvania. He moved to Illinois, and then to Decatur, Texas in 1855. There he was elected County Clerk and later County Judge of Wise County. He is buried at Sand Hill Cemetery near Decatur.
