John Grant (Grant) England and Elizabeth Myatt were married about 1869 in [Fentress County, Tennessee]. Their marriage date is an estimate. After the Civil War, Grant's father John England lived in Anderson County for about four more years according to his Civil War pension application. John and family were then enumerated in the 1870 census in Fentress County. Grant and Elizabeth were also enumerated in the household of Grant's father in Fentress County in 1870.

The Anderson County marriage book is intact, and does not show a marriage for Grant and Elizabeth between the 1860 census and the 1870 census. The Fentress County marriage book was destroyed by a courthouse fire. Given the timeline of where Grant's father lived, given the absence of a marriage in Anderson County, and given the absence of any children for Grant and Elizabeth in the 1870 census, it seems most likely that they were married in Fentress County not long before the census in 1870.

Elizabeth Myatt133 was born about 1840 in Tennessee.

She appeared in the census in 1870 in Fentress County, Tennessee. Elizabeth 26 f w TN, enumerated with her husband in the household of her father-in-law John England.

She died after 1870. She may have died before 1880, but there is a census entry in both 1880 and 1900 that might have been her. (RGB)
