There is an issue concerning the date of Jemima Jane's death as compared to the date of birth of her youngest son. Conventionally, Jane's date of death is listed as 22 Oct 1885 and Samuel M. Prosise's birth is listed as Jul 1886. This is of course impossible. I believe that one explanation is that Jane died on 22 Oct 1886. In addition, Phyllis Peterson has a photograph which on the back says that Jane was born 14 Sep 1852 and died 22 Oct 1896. That would be another possibility. I'm going to go with the 1896 date for now. (RGB)

The Rev. Frank Prosise died while preaching at another man's funeral (Jack Altum's) at the Liberty Baptist Church in Salem, Anderson County, Tennessee according to his son Elbert's obiturary. Frank Prosise full name was Benjamin Franklin Prosise and he was born in Dinwiddie Co., Virginia. He was the son of Thomas Dudley & Rebecca Mabry Rowland Prosise.

Benjamin was buried about 21 April 1909 in Old Baptist Cemetery, Clinton, Anderson County, Tennessee. Phyllis Peterson reports that there is no stone, but that he is buried next to his wife. (RGB)
