Death: 16 September 1895, age 82, [Anderson County], [Tennessee].⁷¹ Zipporah and Milly Cross were listed in the 1852 Anderson County settlement of Zipporah England. This confirms that Zipporah was the daughter of Thomas Peters, because Thomas was the son-in-law of Vesta Zipporah Choate who married John England and who thenceforth signed her name Zipporah England.

Marriage: 2 May 1840, Anderson County, Tennessee, Zipporah Peters, to Alfred Carter Cross.^29,52,70,71 Issued 2 May 1840, Alfred Cross to Zipporah Peters. No return is listed, and they might have been married a day or two after the license was issued. On the other hand, the William Alexander Cross family bible reports that Alfred and Zipporah were married on 2 April 1840. Perhaps they were married without having first receiving a license, and then applied for the license after the fact. That would explain why there was no return.
