Robert Russell Wyatt Nichols was born in Sevierville, Tenn., Oct. 12, 1872, second child of John and Martha (Reneau) Nichols. When just a babe in arms his mother took him and his older sister Loretta to Missouri where their father had gone to work, a short time previously. There were other Nichols in that Missouri Area. However, the climate and the chills affected his mother and older sister so badly they had to return to Tennessee, when my father was still very small.

I knew him as Ralph Nichols, Sr. He was a member of Corinth Methodist Church in Knox County, Tennessee. He was a Sunday School teacher, and a church leader. He was administrator of John Tarleton Orphange in Knoxville, Tennessee. The church is still there, but it is no longer a United Methodist church. RGB

Wyatt Nichols Sr., beloved husband of Pearl, father of Wyatt Jr. (Bud), Mrs. Roberta Swaney of Sun Valley, Calif., brother of Ralph W. and Mrs. Daisy Ellis, grandfather of seven. Friends may call at the Wells Kloss Lyndhurst Funeral Home, Mayfield at Brainard, 2-4 and 7-10 P.M. Wednesday.
