Oleta F. Steinkamp, 86 of Mexico, died Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at Audrain Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home with Fr. John Schmitz officiating. Visitation is Thursday from noon until service time. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.
Oleta was born on Aug. 16, 1923 in Higbee, the daughter of Walter and Lena Bagby. On Dec. 25, 1946 she married Bernard A. “Barney” Steinkamp, Sr. in Moberly. They moved to Mexico in January 1947. She worked for many years for dentists Dr. Huey and Dr. Hodges and retired in 1985. She was a wonderful cook and mother.
In addition to her husband Barney, she is survived by a son, Bernard A. Steinkamp, Jr. of Centralia, a granddaughter Amber Steinkamp of Lees Summit, a sister Opal Porter of Moberly and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Leonard Bagby and a sister Lorene Green.

Bernard A. "Barney" Steinkamp, Sr., 86, of Mexico, died unexpectedly, Tuesday, May 4, 2010, at his home.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at Arnold Funeral Home with Fr. John Schmitz officiating. Burial to follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday from 12 noon until service time.

Barney was born on September 6, 1923 in Moberly, the son of Herman and Rose (Thieman) Steinkamp.

On December 25, 1946 he married Oleta Bagby in Moberly. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2010.

He was a watchmaker and jeweler working for Melody's Quality Jewelry and Pilcher's. He was a longtime member and past president of the Mexico Lion's Club. Barney was also a veteran, having served in the United States Navy.

He is survived by a son, Bernard A. Steinkamp, Jr. of Centralia and a granddaughter, Amber Steinkamp or Lees Summit, MO.

In addition to his wife, Oleta, he was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
