1891 Enumeration of Voting Rolls for Morgan County, Tennessee

These voting rolls can serve as a very poor surrogate for the 1890 census, which was destroyed by fire.

The book in the library was not a transcription. Rather, it was photocopies made from micro-film.

Dist. 5, Morgan County, Tennessee, 1891 male voters
p.163, John Peters

John H. Peters was the son of Francis Asbury Peters and Sarah Jane Scarbrough.

Francis Asbury Peters was the son of Henry Peters Jr.  So this John H. Peters was the second cousin of my second great grandfather John Henry Peters.

Dist. 6, Morgan County, Tennessee, 1891 male voters
p.101, Tobias Peters

Tobias C. Peters was the son of James Peters and Rachel McCart, and the grandson of Tobias Peters Sr. and Elizabeth Rachel Scarborough.  It seems likely that the middle name of Tobias C. Peters was Carpenter, but this is not proven.

Dist. 7, Morgan County, Tennessee, 1891 male voters
p.22, John England

John England was my third great grandfather.  John was the son of Titus England and Elizabeth.

Dist. 7, Morgan County, Tennessee, 1891 male voters
p.22, Luke England

Luke L. England was the son of my third great grandparents John England and Jane (Jennie) Peters.  As such, Luke was the brother of my second great grandmother Vesta Clay England.

Dist. 7, Morgan County, Tennessee, 1891 male voters
p.22, Robert England

Robert Lakey England was the son of my third great grandparents John England and Jane (Jennie) Peters.  As such, Robert was the brother of my second great grandmother Vesta Clay England.
